Jay is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years of experience in the accounting industry. His areas of expertise include automotive, amusement parks, stockbrokers and other industries. He specializes in taxation, business consulting, payroll and sales tax and business formation. Jay enjoys one-on-one interaction with his clients and working with them to create the most effective means for achieving their specific goals.

Prior to merging with Katz, Viola, Lebenhart & Mauro, LLP, Jay was a partner at Lipner, Sofferman & Co., LLP. His ability to connect with his clients and understand their needs is what has made him successful in this industry. Jay has a therapeutic way of putting his clients at ease and helping them see the “big picture.”

In 1990, Jay received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland and, in 1992, received his Master of Business Administration degree from Adelphi University. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs.

When he is not at the office, Jay likes to spend time with his family and stay involved in the community. He is currently a board member of Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation, which provides educational resources to community residents through the form of scholarships. He is also a board member of the Rising Stars Youth Foundation, whose mission is to utilize the game of basketball as a way to promote education, reinforce values and provide local youth with a safe environment to play, learn and grow. Jay also volunteers his time as a coach with the local Little League.
